1. Purpose The Forest Service is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to identify qualified sources capable of providing large?format digital display converters that accept analog sensor inputs and output RS?232 serial data. This RFI is solely for market research and planning purposes. It does not constitute a solicitation, request for proposal, or commitment by the Government to award a contract. 2. Background The agency requires industrial?grade display converters similar in function and performance to the Laurel Electronics LT60FR units. These devices must support mission?critical monitoring systems already deployed within the agency’s operational infrastructure. 3. Requirements Respondents should indicate their ability to provide equipment meeting the following minimum characteristics: Large, high?visibility digital display suitable for industrial environments Ability to accept analog input signals (e.g., 4–20 mA, 0–10 V, or equivalent) RS?232 serial output compatible with legacy data systems Stable signal conditioning and conversion suitable for continuous monitoring Ruggedized construction appropriate for operational and environmental conditions Electrical, mechanical, and communication interfaces compatible with existing system architecture Suppliers may submit information on Laurel Electronics products or comparable items capable of meeting or exceeding the technical requirements. 4.
