Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management, Rio Puerco Field Office, Bernalillo County, New Mexico has a requirement to perform Manual Fuel Reduction / Thinning (pinyon-juniper) on a per acre basis with an estimated 156 acres with work to be performed from October 1, 2026 - February 1, 2027. The project area is located in Township 9N, Range 13W, Section 12 approximately 1 mile south of the rural community of Oso Ridge, Cibola County, New Mexico. This work is to remove hazardous fuels, improve forest health, protect infrastructure, and break up the recent bug kill mortality continuity of the canopy to reduce wildfire risk.
