Acquisition and deployment of Transportation Security Equipment, specifically Boarding Pass Scanners, the accompanying warranties, and firmware updates to ensure public safety. The Boarding Pass Scanner reads the encrypted barcode of a boarding pass to determine the appropriate level of screening. Without the Boarding Pass Scanner, Transportation Security Officers would have to revert to checking passenger boarding passes manually.
